NETQOS policy management architecture for flexible QOS provisioning in Future Internet

This paper is focussed on the NETQOS architecture for automated QoS policy provisioning, which can be used in Future Internet scenarios by the different actors (i.e. network operators, service providers, and users) for flexible QoS configuration over combinations of mobile, fixed, sensor and broadcast networks. The NETQOS policy management architecture opens the possibility to specify QoS policies on a "business" level using ontology descriptions and policy management interfaces, which are specific to the actors. The business level policy specifications are translated by the NETQOS system into intermediate and operational QoS policies for automated QoS configuration at the managed heterogeneous network and transport entities. NETQOS allows QoS policy specification and dependency analysis considering Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between the actors, as well as automated policy provisioning and adaptation. The interaction of the NETQOS components is based on a common po licy repository. The particular focus of the paper is aimed to discuss ontology and actor oriented QoS policy specification and configuration for heterogeneous networks, as well as NETQOS QoS policy management interfaces at business level and automated translation of business QoS policies to intermediate and operational policy level

Influence of Edge Effects on Laser-Induced Surface Displacement of Opaque Materials by Photothermal Interferometry

We demonstrate the influence of edge effects on the photothermal-induced phase shift measured by a homodyne quadrature laser interferometer and compare the experiments with rigorous theoretical descriptions of thermoelastic surface displacement of metals. The finite geometry of the samples is crucial in determining how the temperature is distributed across the material and how this affects the interferometer phase shift measurements. The optical path change due to the surface thermoelastic deformation and thermal lens in the surrounding air is decoded from the interferometric signal using analytical and numerical tools. The boundary/edge effects are found to be relevant to properly describe the interferometric signals. The tools developed in this study provide a framework for the study of finite size effects in heat transport in opaque materials and are applicable to describe not only the phase shift sensed by the interferometer but also to contribute to the photothermal-based technologies employing similar detection mechanisms

Charakterystyki użytkowe rozdrabniania tarczowego biomasy

It was investigated multi-disc grinding in directions knowledge of, describe and utilize, for design and structural purposes, the characteristics that indicate the relations between speeds idle movement, loads and the indicators of usable variables in the grinding space. W artykule przedstawiono problematykę recyklingu zużytych opon samochodowych. Autorzy podali charakterystykę metod recyklingu materiałowego opon przez rozdrabnianie klasyczne i kriogeniczne, rozdrabnianie techniką Berstorjfa, rozdrabnianie na mokro oraz wodą pod wysokim ciśnieniem. Badania i analiza eksploatacyjnych charakterystyk mikronizatora energetycznej biomasy

The analysis covers interrelations between the following factors: the machine movement, states and transformations of particles of the micronized biomass, particle shifts, mixing, grinding of energetic straw and its particles. It has been found that these relationships, among other things, depend on friction conditions, impacts, cutting, structural components of the micronizer as the dynamic movement of the machine structural components and biomass (particles) takes place under the conditions of idle movement and workload in order to accomplish an external goal. This paper aims at systematization, calculation and complementary research on micro-grinding performance characteristics (idle and operating), for constant and different rotational speeds (angular and linear).Poddano analizie wzajemne relacje: ruchu użytkowego, stany i przemiany cząstek rozdrabnianej biomasy, ich przemieszczenia, mieszanie, rozdrabnianie słomy energetycznej i jej cząstek. Wykazano, że zależą one m.in. od warunków tarcia, zderzeń, cięcia, cech konstrukcyjnych mikronizatora, przy czym dynamiczne przemieszczanie elementów (części) konstrukcji maszyny i biomasy (cząstek), następuje w warunkach ruchu jałowego i obciążenia roboczego, dynamicznej realizacji celu zewnętrznego. Celem pracy jest systematyzacja, obliczenia i badania uzupełniające charakterystyk użytkowych (jałowych i roboczych) mikro-rozdrabniania, sporządzanych przy stałej i różnej prędkości obrotowej (kątowej lub liniowej)
